Akoya LSA
Lisa Airplanes recently announced the company is resuming development of its Akoya LSA, a two-seat amphibian with foldable wings and retractable landing gear.
The project was put on hold last summer when the young French company entered receivership after much-needed funding failed to come through. Lisa Airplanes said it “coped with the observation period during receivership,” and has now emerged to begin work on the $400,000 LSA once again.
The Akoya was first unveiled in the fall of 2011 as a slick amphib able to land on water, snow or ground without additional modification. Powered by a 100 hp Rotax, the composite airplane made its first passenger-carrying flight last year.
While Lisa Airplanes will have a presence at EAA AirVenture later this month, the Akoya prototype will not be making the trip, the company said.
