Ahead of the 2020 ADS-B mandate, ATP Flight School has selected L-3’s Lynx NGT-9000 touch-screen transponder as an ADS-B solution for 100 of its 250 training aircraft for students preparing for airline careers.
The Lynx units will be delivered through the rest of this year in ATP’s fleet of Piper and Cessna twin- and single-engine aircraft. In addition to the Lynx NGT-9000, students will have access to L-3’s ADS-B Traffic Advisory System (ATAS) and its class-B embedded Terrain Awareness System (eTAWS).
“ATP is dedicated to providing Airline Career Pilot Program students with the necessary resources, safety and technology they need to prepare for successful airline pilot careers,” said Justin Dennis, ATP vice president. “This investment in avionics is a demonstration of that commitment and we are pleased to partner with L-3 to bring the technology of tomorrow into the hands of our students today.”
