Enhanced Embraer Phenom 300 Gets a Speed Boost

Brazilian airplane maker improves cockpit and cabin for light bizjet.

Brazilian airplane maker Embraer has announced an upgraded version of its Phenom 300 light business jet. The Phenom 300E has reached Mach 0.80, which, the company claims, makes the airplane the fastest single-pilot business jet on the market. High-speed cruise for the Phenom 300E is listed at 464 knots, an increase from 453 knots in the original version, with a range of 2,010 nm with NBAA IFR reserves when carrying five occupants. The Phenom 300E can carry up to 10 people (including 1 or 2 crew, depending on configuration).

The upgraded model has also received several modifications to improve comfort and reduce noise in the cabin. Owner-operators will enjoy increased legroom in the cockpit where the seat tracking has been stretched by 40 percent. The Prodigy Touch avionics suite, based on Garmin’s G3000 system, has also seen some upgrades, adding predictive windshear, Emergency Descent Mode, runway overrun awareness and alerting system, and more. Also included is the Gogo Avance L5 4G system, providing swift network capabilities to allow for streaming, email, phone calls, texting and more, in flight.

A premium interior option has been added to please the occupants of the main cabin. Named Bossa Nova, the exclusive interior was introduced in 2018 with the launch of the Praetor 500 and 600 midsize and super-midsize bizjets. The interior design was inspired by the sidewalks of Rio de Janeiro, Embraer said, and includes custom stitching designs with “piano-black” coloring accented by carbon fiber and shiny metals. The Phenom 300E cabin also offers a refreshment center, wardrobe, and private lavatory.

First deliveries of the Phenom 300E are expected in May 2020.
