Barefoot Bandit Brought to Leash in Nassau

He’s captured the imagination of the public, though the owner of the Cessna Corvalis 400 Colton Harris-Moore stole is likely a lot less enthralled. The so-called Barefoot Bandit ditched the Cessna single after flying to one of the Bahamas out islands from the Indiana airport where he stole it. All this despite the fact that Harris-Moore reportedly had no “formal flight training.” He was subsequently arrested after a high-speed boat chase. Among the more serious charges he faces are those associated with the handgun he was carrying when arrested, but upon extradition to face charges in the U.S., he will have to answer for several thefts of cars, boats and aircraft. He acquired the nickname after allegedly performing some of his heists without benefit of footwear.
