Aspen Avionics has received FAA approval for its entry-level ATX100G ADS-B transceiver, a single-band unit designed to meet the FAA's upcoming mandate and present subscription-free weather and traffic information on Aspen cockpit displays.
Carrying a retail price of $4,995, the ATX100G is compatible with Aspen's Evolution primary flight displays and multi-function displays. The unit receives and transmits on the 978 MHz Universal Access Transceiver (UAT) frequency and incorporates an internal WAAS GPS receiver.
The ATX100G satisfies the 2020 ADS-B Out equipment mandate for airplanes operating below 18,000 feet. Aspen says the product is shipping now and is available for installation under a blanket AML STC.
