Dassault Falcon is fine-tuning its product mix with the launch of the $30.4 million Falcon 2000LXS as a replacement for the current 2000LX.

The biggest changes center on new model’s improved short-field capability thanks to the addition of full-length inboard slats on the wing. The 2000LXS will also boast increased payload carrying capability and a sleek refresh of the cabin and cockpit.

The aerodynamic improvements will reduce the 2000LXS’s balanced field length to 4,675 feet at its max gross weight of 42,800 pounds, enabling the airplane to operate from more airports than the current 2000LX, which has a BFL of 5,750 feet.

When it hits the market in 2014, the Falcon 2000LXS will have a range of 4,000 nm at Mach .80, be able to climb directly to FL 410 feet in 19 minutes and have a certified ceiling of 47,000 feet.

Dassault says it will continue to offer the $25.9 million Falcon 2000S model, and has committed to launching its long-awaited super-midsize business jet sometime next year.
