All Three of ANA’s ‘Star Wars’ Jets Enter Commercial Service

Passengers on regularly scheduled flights could end up on BB-8 and R2-D2-themed airliners.

If you book a flight on All Nippon Airways (ANA), the force may be with you.

A Boeing 777 painted in the likeness of Star Wars droid BB-8 made its debut flight on Monday, traveling from Osaka to Tokyo to Los Angeles.

With the BB-8 jet now in commercial service, all three of ANA’s jets with Star Wars livery are carrying passengers on regularly scheduled flights.

The BB-8 jet is scheduled to travel between Tokyo and Los Angeles through April 8, and then fly routes between Japan and Chicago, New York, Texas, Washington D.C., and Singapore.

ANA’s other Star Wars-themed jets include a Boeing 787 Dreamliner with an R2-D2 livery and a Boeing 767 that features the likeness of both R2-D2 and BB-8. In addition to the airliners’ custom paint jobs, the interiors feature Star Wars-themed lighting, headrest covers, cups and napkins.

Flight information for all three Star Wars jets can be found at ana-sw.com/jets.
