Two airports in Washington state are being targeted with new rewards.

A total of 13,304 laser incidents marks a 41 percent increase from the previous year.

The devices, developed in partnership with the Air Force Research Laboratory, will also include night eyewear that allow more natural light.

According to the FAA, pilots have reported more than 7,400 laser hazard incidents so far this year.

The agency wants manufacturers to include a warning label to remind users that pointing a laser at an aircraft is a federal crime.

The nonpartisan, congressional watchdog agency said it found the FAA’s approach lacking.
