NASA Releases New Apollo Lunar-landing Images

Apollo 13

Space-geeks rejoice! NASA recently released into the public domain a collection of thousands of digital photos from the Apollo era, including a wide collection of spectacular shots from the lunar landings.

The collection includes images from Apollo missions 7 through 17. Many of the images have never previously been released. In addition to loads of incredible shots of the lunar surface, astronauts taking a hike on the moon and images of the earth more than 230,000 miles away, you will get a real glimpse of the Apollo 13 crew during their famously flawed mission.

And if you're looking for something even more visual, check out this mesmerizing video that animates the photos using a cool 3D effect.
