At approximately 1130 Eastern time, the airplane nosed over while landing. The airline transport pilot and passenger sustained minor injuries. Visual conditions prevailed. The flight had originated in Medford, Ore., a few days prior to the accident. The airplane was being ferried to its new owner.

The airplane experienced a loss of engine power and force landed in a park at about 0840 Mountain time. The commercial pilot was not injured, but his passenger sustained minor injuries. The airplane was substantially damaged. Visual conditions prevailed.

February 8, 2010, Redlands, Calif., Yakovlev YAK 52

The airplane collided with terrain while maneuvering at about 1250 Pacific time. The commercial pilot and second pilot were killed; the airplane was substantially damaged. Visual conditions prevailed. A witness reported observing the airplane perform aerobatics and then return to the airport, where the pilot added oil to the onboard smoke system. Shortly, the airplane departed and the pilot performed aerobatics for 10 to 15 minutes.

At 1505 Eastern time, the airplane was substantially damaged during landing. The private pilot was not injured. Visual conditions prevailed. A witness observed the airplane power up and perform a go-around or touch-and-go and reported the airplane “did not appear to be climbing as fast as it should…and appeared to be almost stalling.”

The airplane was destroyed when it impacted multiple residential structures and terrain following an in-flight collision with power lines and a power line tower at about 0754 Pacific time. The collision occurred shortly after takeoff. The commercial pilot and his two passengers were killed. There were no reported ground injuries. Instrument conditions prevailed; an IFR flight plan was filed.

At about 1512 Eastern time, the airplane was substantially damaged during a landing overrun. The airline transport pilot and the six passengers were not injured. Marginal visual conditions were reported; the Part 135 scheduled passenger flight was operating on an IFR flight plan.
