The bluebonnets are in bloom at a Texas airport near you. While many think of dusty tumbleweed towns when they think of Texas, when it comes to springtime, few places in the world can rival Texas for its wildflower displays.

We’re thankful that Llano Municipal Airport (KAQO), along with many Texas Hill Country Airports, keep the mowers hangared this time of year and let the wildflowers have their day in the sun.

Many thanks to Henry Hickman, longtime Flying reader and 182 owner and pilot out of Fredericksburg, Texas, and his friend Jerry Christensen, who snapped the pictures from the right seat of Henry’s 182 as they were arriving at Llano one day last week.
