The airplane was destroyed and its sole occupant, a non-Instrument-rated Private pilot, received minor injuries on impacting terrain at approximately 1900 Pacific time. Visual conditions prevailed; the flight was originating at the time of the accident. The pilot later said he inadvertently entered a fog bank shortly after takeoff and he attempted a climbing right turn to return to the clear air over the departure runway. The airplane sustained substantial damage during landing when it impacted terrain at a private airstrip at approximately 0915 Mountain time. The Private pilot sustained minor injuries; visual conditions prevailed. According to the pilot, he took off with the intention of practicing touch-and-go landings. He performed one landing with 20 degrees of flaps. During the second landing approach, he came in with 30 degrees of flaps. The tailwheel-equipped airplane was substantially damaged while landing at the Windham Airport at about 1100 Eastern time. The Student pilot was not injured. Visual conditions prevailed for the local instructional flight. During the first landing attempt, the airplane bounced and touched down in a left crab. The airplane sustained substantial damage during a forced landing following a loss of engine power on takeoff from a private airstrip at about 1730 local time. The Commercial pilot and passenger were not injured. Visual conditions prevailed. According to the pilot, he made an approach and full stop landing with the carburetor heat on. The pilot then taxied the airplane back to the end of the runway, completed a run up and departed. At approximately 1745 Pacific time, the airplane was substantially damaged on impacting terrain during initial climb after taking off. The Commercial pilot received serious injuries, while the sole passenger received fatal injuries. Visual conditions prevailed; the flights destination was the Lewiston-Nez Perce County Airport in Lewiston, Idaho. After taking off, witnesses observed the airplane was below a ridgeline south of the airstrip, but then began a left climbing turn in an attempt to clear trees to the east. At approximately 1520 Mountain time, the tailwheel-equipped airplane collided with a runway sign during the landing roll. The Private pilot, who was the sole occupant of the aircraft, was not injured, but the aircraft sustained substantial damage. According to the pilot, who landed on Runway 25, he was cleared by the tower to turn off the runway at Taxiway Echo. While attempting to make the right-hand turn onto the taxiway, the pilot inadvertently turned too soon, and the aircraft collided with the runway identification sign near the intersection of the runway and the taxiway. At about 0815 Mountain time, the airplane collided with static cables from a power line pole assembly. The Private pilot, the sole occupant, was fatally injured and the airplane was substantially damaged. Visual conditions prevailed for the local flight. The aircraft was substantially damaged during a forced landing in Paxton, Mass., at about 2100 local time; the Private pilot was not injured. Night visual conditions prevailed. According to an FAA inspector, the engine lost power, and the pilot force-landed about of a mile from Spencer Airports Runway 19. There was no sign of fuel leakage on either the airplane or the ground. The right fuel tank appeared to be empty, and the left fuel tank had a small, unknown quantity of fuel. At 1038 Central time, the airplane was substantially damaged when it impacted trees following a loss of control during a go-around at the Saline County Airport (M99), near Benton, Ark. The solo student pilot was seriously injured. The supervised solo flight originated approximately eight minutes prior to the accident. After takeoff, the student pilot decided to perform a short field landing. While on final approach for Runway 17, he realized the airplane was a little high and selected 40 degrees of flaps, while noting the wind to be variable. The Cessna was destroyed during a late-night forced landing following a loss of power, although the solo pilot was uninjured. The flight originated in Coleman, Texas, about midnight with Llano, Texas, as its intended destination. Subsequently, the pilot reported a loss of engine power during cruise flight. The pilot elected to land in a pasture and, during the landing roll, the airplane impacted a tree with the left wing, spun around and collided with a fence. Examination of the wreckage revealed gallon of fuel in the left tank; the right fuel tank was found empty.
