PiperJet Breaks New Ground for Historic Company

The defining feature of the PiperJet is its single, tail-mounted engine. Looking a bit like a scale version of a Falcon Jet, the PiperJet gives the air of a much larger craft.

Shown here on the ramp at its home in Vero Beach, Florida, the PiperJet is in production test flight right now. The schedule has slipped some -- certification is now due in 2012 -- but orders, according to Piper, remain strong.
