Liberty XL2

Liberty XL2

With conventional control sticks opening up the panel, there's lots of room for the instruments. The XL2's is laid out in three sections, a design that may face a change when flat panels come to the Liberty, as they surely will. The fadec computers, channels "A" and "B," are controlled by a pair of safety switches for preflight tests and emergency shutdowns. Note the fadec PC data logger screen, which allows users to record and play back an engine's eye view of every second of a flight. A center console has the throttle, finger brakes and fuel selector. Note the lack of a mixture control, thanks, again, to fadec.
