Piper Meridian G1000The Meridian’s sweet spot, 27,000 feet, where you typically see better than 255 knots true with good fuel flows and a good chance for a smooth ride.On a good day, as shown here, you might enjoy 50 knots on the tail, too. At 15,000 feet, we avoided the worst headwinds, but fuel flows go up substantially. The Meridian I was flying was decked out with a special G1000 scheme. It generated a lot of questions around the ramp, and we gave a couple of cockpit tours to interested pilots.
