Cirrus Fractional Expands Services

Atlanta-based Ascension Air to open up in Florida.

A fractional ownership firm out of Atlanta, which currently offers six Cirrus SR22 GTS airplanes to its owners, has announced it is opening up a second location in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The expansion will happen in August, the company said, but customers have already signed up at the new location, which will offer two Cirrus airplanes to start.

The company, Ascension Aviation, opened its doors about two and half years ago with a program that offers 80 hours per year with 24 overnight trips. The fractional ownership requires a four-year commitment and there are currently about 30 owners in the program, which has an initial cost of $27,495 and monthly fees of $3,520.

Along with expanding its locations, Ascension is adding new program offerings. The new Aviator’s Club provides its owners with 60 hours per year and 12 overnight trips for a one-time fee of $8,000 and monthly fees of $2,975.

Additional hours are offered to the fractional owners and Aviator’s Club members for charitable fights and training. One limiting factor with the programs is that scheduling is required 30 days in advance in order to ensure availability.

In addition to the ownership programs, Ascension is launching what it calls the PropCard, which offers 25 hours that don’t expire with four overnight trips for a one-time cost of $17,500. The PropCard also offers more scheduling flexibility with 15-days notice.

Ascension Air’s programs include everything from concierge services, maintenance and Bose A20 headsets to fuel, oxygen and anti-ice fluid.
