Key Takeaways:

  • FLYING magazine's September issue is digital-only, a strategic move to adapt to modern information consumption habits and engage the aviation community more effectively.
  • This digital shift aims to reach readers faster, share stories more broadly, and manage rising print costs, enabling investment in new content formats.
  • Despite the digital-first approach for this issue, FLYING reaffirms its commitment to its print legacy, which will continue to offer thoughtful, long-form aviation coverage.
  • The magazine's fundamental mission to accurately tell aviation's stories remains unchanged, evolving its format to meet the community wherever they are while balancing tradition and innovation.

Aviation does not happen in one place anymore.

It happens at Oshkosh, where thousands of people gather around flight lines, forums, aircraft displays, and evening conversations that stretch well past sunset. I know I had plenty of these at Camp Scholler. It happens in hangars and flight schools, at maintenance shops and on the ramp, in owner groups, text threads, YouTube videos, newsletters, and in between legs of a cross-country flight.
