The FAA is surprisingly ahead of schedule with its Modernization of Special Airworthiness Certificates (MOSAIC) regulation, a claim many readers found unbelievable.
The Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) for MOSAIC was posted for display on July 19, 2023, and scheduled for official publication in the Federal Register on July 24, 2023, predating the FAA's previously anticipated August 2023 deadline.
Industry standards group ASTM and the public are encouraged to review the extensive 318-page NPRM and provide comments during the expected 90-day comment period.
