Challenger 3500 Already a Big Hit For Bombardier

Montreal-based manufacturer records 20 firm orders for super midsize business jet.

Bombardier has secured 20 firm orders for its latest aircraft offering, the Challenger 3500, president and CEO Eric Martel said Monday at the National Business Aviation Association’s Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition (NBAA-BACE).

The orders total $534 million. Les Goldberg, chairman and CEO of Entertainment Technology Partners, is the launch customer.

“Reliability is the most important thing to consider when buying an aircraft, and I know the new Challenger will allow me to travel the world to run my business,” he said. “I’m looking forward to all the improvements that they’ve done to make the plane exceptional.”

Other Company News

In addition to the Challenger 3500 announcements, JC Gallagher, Bombardier’s executive vice president of services and support, spoke about the recently revealed Certified Pre-Owned Aircraft Program.

Similar to programs offered by car manufacturers, Bombardier’s program takes in used airplanes, refurbishes them and sells them with a warranty. It’s available for Challengers and Globals.
