Hawker 800XPR Receives STC Approval

The FAA has awarded supplemental type certification for the Hawker 800XPR. The STC, available exclusively from Hawker Beechcraft Global Customer Support (GCS), is an upgrade package for the 800XP that includes Honeywell's TFE731-50R engines and Hawker winglets.

Honeywell’s TFE731-50R engines are capable of producing 5,000 pounds of thrust, but have been flat rated to 4,660 pounds for the 800XPR. The same engines power Hawker Beechcraft’s latest version of the midsize 800 series, the Hawker 900XP, certified in 2007 after the 800XP was taken out of production.

The 800XPR upgrade results in a three-minute reduction for the time to climb to FL 370, a 7 percent reduction in specific fuel consumption, lower noise levels and reduced carbon emissions compared with the 800XP. There is also a significant increase in the major periodic inspection intervals for the engines. As a result, the STC upgrade qualifies for a zero-cost enrollment in Honeywell’s minimum Maintenance Service Plan.

Optional avionics and interior upgrades as well as a custom Hawker 800XPR paint scheme are also available as part of the program.

The cost for the 800XPR upgrade is $3.795 million and first delivery is expected in September. EASA certification is pending.
