A 19-year-old U.S. pilot was detained by Chilean authorities in Antarctica after he altered his flight plan without approval.

The device, which simulates marginal VFR, is now in use on all seven continents, the company said.

The floating observatory is flying at an altitude of more than 125,000 feet.
