Two U.S. Students Earn EAA/Daher-Socata Internships

** William McAleer and Kalena Glover**

Parlez-vous francais? A duo of American aviation college students will get the chance to brush up on their French with a five-week internship at the Daher-Socata facility in Tarbes, France.

All travel and expenses are covered by the scholarship, which is co-sponsored by EAA. Kalena Glover, a senior at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Arizona, and William McAleer, a junior at Auburn University in Alabama will spend five weeks with Daher-Socata in France, take a side trip to visit the Airbus facility in nearby Toulouse, then join the company for its week-long visit to EAA AirVenture, helping out Socata and working with the EAA Air Academy.

Nicolas Chabbert, president and CEO of Daher-Socata North America said, “They will spend time with our team in France, gaining expertise in their fields of interest — such as marketing, production, organization, design, support and service. We hope the experience will make a difference in their future careers, while also benefitting our company by working with the next generation of aviation industry decision makers.”

Daher-Socata has encouraged EAA to reach out to U.S. companies that might be willing to initiate similar programs for young people from around the world.
