The Vero Beach, Florida-based airframer will hire a senior leader, likely to be based in Brunei, whose duties will include promoting general aviation in the region. That entails prying away control of travel and airspace for GA use. Naturally, Imprimis also expects to establish a wide-reaching Piper dealership network in the region to best leverage its efforts in opening up infrastructure restrictions. Training for Asian airlines is one avenue the company hopes to pursue, with plans to open a flying academy. Piper is reportedly looking to partner with established training organizations to launch the Asian school.
