2015 AOPA Fly-In at Salinas Pia Bergqvist

AOPA has released the dates and locations for its 2016 Fly-Ins. "We've been overwhelmed by the success of the AOPA Fly-Ins, so we're excited to bring them to brand new locations, with new seminars, social events and activities for 2016," said Mark Baker, AOPA's president.

The Fly-In concept was introduced in 2014 as a regional one-day show to replace the annual, multi-day AOPA Aviation Summit. So far, the events have been popular, with more than 27,000 people attending and 4,000 aircraft flying in to the 12 shows that were put on in 2014 and 2015. The idea of the Fly-Ins was to bring the events closer to its members. So far, the Fly-In has been conducted in 10 states. 2016 will add three new states to the list.

The Friday night Barnstormers Party, which features food and entertainment, will return in 2016, as will the pancake breakfast and lunch served up by local food trucks and restaurants. Attendees as also sure to enjoy the exhibitors, seminars, speakers and a Pilot Town Hall meeting with Baker.

The following four locations, all of which offer on-field camping, will host the 2016 AOPA Fly-Ins:

May 21 – Michael J. Smith Field (MRH); Beaufort, North Carolina

August 20 – Bremerton National Airport (PWT); Bremerton, Washington

September 17 – WK Kellogg Airport (BTL); Battle Creek, Michigan

October 1 – Earnest A. Love Field (PRC); Prescott, Arizona
