The Boeing Blue Sky Aviation Gallery at Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum at Centennial Airport in Englewood, Colorado was a "breathtaking" venue for the National Aviation Hall of Fame (NAHF) to present their Enshrinement of the "Class of 2019" Inductees.

Among the inductees at the 57th annual dinner and induction ceremony were John and Martha King, honored for their revolutionary multimedia training programs. As well as their 40-year careers as flight instructors, the Kings are also contributing editors for Flying.

Also being inducted was Colonel Guion “Guy” S. Bluford, USAF (Ret), Ph.D., honored for his work as an aerospace engineer, fighter pilot, decorated Vietnam veteran, and being a mission specialist on four NASA Space Shuttle missions. Brigadier General Charles M. Duke, Jr., USAF (Ret), was also inducted for his career as a test pilot, NASA Group 5, CAPCOM Apollo 11, LMP Apollo 16 and being the 10th person to walk on the moon.

Nearly 700 guests witnessed the enshrinement of the Class of 2019, including Charlie Duke, Katherine Stinson, Greg "Pappy" Boyington, Guion "Guy" Bluford, and the Kings. Mike Ullery/NAHF

Two inductees who have “gone west” included the late Colonel Gregory “Pappy” Boyington, USMC, a Congressional Medal of Honor Awardee and Commanding Officer of the “Black Sheep Squadron,” and the late Ms. Katherine Stinson, the fourth female in the U.S. to earn a pilot’s certificate, founder of the Stinson School of Flying in 1915, and the first woman to carry airmail.

“The Denver metro area is an aerospace-rich region with several large aviation contractors, including Lockheed Martin, and home to forward thinking aerospace companies such as Boom Supersonic and Bye Aerospace. Choosing Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum as our 2019 venue for the Enshrinement was a fitting choice,” said Amy Spowart, NAHF President & CEO.

“There is tremendous lineage and honor that the NAHF brings with them wherever they go and we are grateful to be part of their continued success,” added Wings Over the Rockies President and CEO, Maj Gen John L. Barry, USAF (RET).
