Citation Mustang Reaches 400th Milestone

Citation Mustang

Cessna reached a milestone on Friday when it rolled out its 400th Citation Mustang at its manufacturing plant in Independence, Kansas.

The achievement comes slightly more than five years after the first Citation Mustang delivery in November 2006. Since then, the Mustang fleet has averaged 480 hours per airplane, with close to 50 aircraft above the 1,000-hour mark, according to Cessna.

Equipped with Garmin G1000 avionics, the Citation Mustang lays claim to a 1,100 nm range and a max cruising speed of 340 ktas. According to Cessna officials, interest in the Mustang, which comes with a price tag of just over $3 million (2012 delivery), remains strong.

The Citation Mustang news comes on the heels of a strong fourth quarter performance report from Cessna, a positive note that company officials attributed to higher non-jet volume as well as a “beneficial mix of jets.”
