The wreckage consisted of the airplane largely intact, sitting on its belly. The landing gear was in the retracted position; both the gear handle switch and flap switch were found in the up positions. There were no reported emergency or distress calls from the pilot. Weather in the area at the time of the accident was reported as foggy; first responders had difficulty locating the accident site due to the poor visibility.
