FIS-B offers essential weather products at no subscription cost but has limitations in coverage (ground station dependent, periodic updates, US only) and product breadth compared to XMWX.
XMWX provides a broader range of detailed weather products, continuous data streams, and wider geographic coverage (including Canada) through tiered subscriptions, making it suitable for more demanding or professional flying.
