Each day, the team at Aircraft For Sale picks an airplane that catches our attention because it is unique, represents a good deal, or has other interesting qualities. You can read Aircraft For Sale: Today’s Top Pick at FLYINGMag.com daily.
Today’s Top Pick is a 1993 SOCATA TB-21 Trinidad.
Traveling in your own light airplane is a singular experience, and doing so in a high-performance retractable model brings additional joy.
If you happen to be flying a rare, stylish machine that few onlookers can name, such as the SOCATA TB-21 Trinidad, you might enjoy the extra attention you receive. Pilots and other aviation enthusiasts love to chat, after all, and the sleek TB-21 is a reliable conversation starter.
Entering the GA market just as the 1980s began, the TB family of aircraft, which also included fixed-gear trainer and cruiser models with smaller engines, marked a departure from other aircraft on sale at the time. In the U.S., many of the Cessna, Piper, and Beechcraft designs on the market were decades old and looked the part. The SOCATAs, in contrast, adopted many external and interior design cues from the auto industry, giving them a fresh angular and modern look.

Even though the TB-21 is a rare sight in the states, it continues to enjoy factory support for parts and service. Years ago, SOCATA became part of Daher, which builds the TBM and Kodiak turboprop singles but has not forgotten about its older models.
This 1993 TB-21 Trinidad has 3,250 hours on its airframe, 80 hours since overhaul on its 250 hp Lycoming TIO-540-AB1AD engine, and 80 hours since overhaul on its Hartzell three-blade propeller, which is equipped with a prop deicing system. The aircraft’s interior was refurbished in 2010, and new paint was applied to its exterior in 2013.
The cockpit features a Garmin G500 glass panel conversion with GTN 750Xi and GNS 430W GPS/nav/coms, Garmin GMA 35C audio panel, King KFC autopilot, WX 500 Stormscope, Garmin GDL 39 antenna, JPI 830 engine monitor, and Shadin fuel-flow instrument.

Pilots who are looking for fast, efficient travel in comfort and European style should take a close look at this 1993 SOCATA TB-21 Trinidad, which is available for $325,000 on AircraftForSale.
