A DAHER-SOCATA TB20 Trinidad was on display at the Euro-Avia Cannes (France) International General Aviation Exhibition last week — but with a new twist on the decades-old design. This Trinidad was retrofitted with Garmin’s G500 aftermarket glass avionics suite (the G600 includes XM satellite weather, which is not available in Europe). The retrofit package, which includes the option of adding synthetic vision, received a supplemental type certificate in April from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). DAHER-SOCATA senior vice president Nicolas Chabbert said, “More than 2,000 ‘Caribbean line’ aircraft were manufactured, and DAHER-SOCATA is committed to offering support and services such as this avionics retrofit for our customers to keep their aircraft flying over the long term.”
