Today’s Top Pick is a 1968 Beechcraft Baron B55.

For pilots looking to step into a true cross-country machine with twin-engine performance and updated systems, this Baron B55 is worth a closer look. With clean paint, new interior, and Garmin glass cockpit, this Beechcraft offers classic lines with the feel of a much newer aircraft.

The Baron is based in Miami and shows 6,572 hours on the airframe. Both IO-470-L engines have 276 hours since major overhaul, with strong performance and matching time on each side. The left propeller has only 64.8 hours since overhaul, while the right propeller sits at 478.6 hours.

Avionics are anchored by a Garmin G500 TXi GDU 1070 display, backed up by a Garmin G5 with battery. Dual GNS 430 units provide navigation, including one WAAS-capable, and a GMA 345 audio panel ties the system together. A GTX330 transponder handles ADS-B, while engine data is delivered through a JPI 790 digital monitor. An STEC55x autopilot will be installed before delivery.

The aircraft has received a long list of recent upgrades. All windows have been replaced with LP Aero 250-inch units. Landing gear has been fully serviced with new O-rings and hardware. LED lighting is installed throughout, including beacon, nav, landing, and taxi lights. Winglets and vortex generators are also installed to enhance handling and stability.

This Baron received a full repaint and new interior in 2025. The seats, panels, and finishes look like new, and the aircraft received a new weight and balance update completed the same year. Two new RG-25XC batteries were also installed in 2024.

It is IFR capable and equipped for serious travel or advanced training. The airplane features an electric air conditioner to keep things cool during warm-weather flights. With seats for six, the Baron cruises comfortably at 190 knots while burning 22 gph.

Inspection status is current, with an annual good through August 2025. Pitot-static and transponder certifications are valid through September 2026, and a wing spar AD has been fully complied with.

Priced at $335,000, this 1968 Beechcraft Baron B55 offers a blend of proven performance, recent upgrades, and comfortable seating for passengers and pilots alike.
