At approximately 1340 Central time, the airplane was substantially damaged during a forced landing. The pilot was not injured. Visual conditions prevailed.

The pilot was troubleshooting a gear extension problem when the engine lost power. The pilot performed a forced landing to a wheat field. During the landing the right wing was buckled and the firewall was wrinkled.
