At about 1955 Central time, the airplane impacted the runway while landing in turbulent conditions. The airline transport pilot and three passengers were not injured. The airplane sustained substantial damage. Instrument conditions prevailed.
The pilot reported there was about ¼ inch of ice buildup on the wings during the approach. He stated the airplane was flying and handling well, but the air was turbulent during the descent. He broke out of the clouds about 800 feet agl and used rudder to point the nose of the airplane 20-30 degrees right of the runway heading. He stated that the automated weather report reported the wind from 280 at 12 knots, gusting 22 to 30 knots.
