According to the FAA, one of the pilots reported on 121.5 MHz the engine was running rough and losing oil pressure, and they were performing a forced landing into woods. The airplane came to rest inverted. Oil was observed on the underside of the fuselage and empennage. The No. 3 cylinder was observed partially separated from the engine and an approximately four-inch hole was observed in the top of the engine crankcase.
