At 09:15 eastern time, a Lake LA-4 exploded as the pilot attempted to start the engine at the Orlando Executive Airport. The two occupants suffered minor injuries but the airplane was destroyed. Preliminary examination showed the explosion occurred in the bilge area underneath and behind the rear seat.
