Key Takeaways:
Garmin has unveiled "Axis," a new family of integrated flight displays for certified, experimental, and light sport piston-powered aircraft.
Axis aims to enhance safety and efficiency by integrating multiple avionics functions—including IFR GPS, nav/comm radio, and audio panel—into a single display, reducing weight and simplifying installation.
The flight displays are available in various sizes (11.6-inch and 8-inch) with touchscreen controls, offering advanced safety features like Smart Glide, Runway Occupancy Awareness, and Enhanced Synthetic Vision Technology.
Axis provides flexible configuration as a Primary Flight Display (PFD) or Multi-Function Display (MFD) with optional Engine Information System (EIS), along with connectivity options and an easy upgrade path from G3X Touch systems.
Garmin on Wednesday unveiled a new family of flight displays designed for piston-powered aircraft called Axis.
Axis is designed to work with certified piston-powered singles and twins though an AML STC (Approved Model List Supplemental Type Certificate) covering hundreds of models. The integrated avionics system is also available for experimental and light sport aircraft.
