Cirrus Introduces Free Transition Training for Buyers of Pre-Owned Airplanes

The new Cirrus Embark program provides three days of training at no cost with any of more than 400 standardized instructors.

In the first program of its kind, Cirrus Aircraft is offering up to three days of training to anyone who buys a Cirrus airplane, even a used plane purchased through a private transaction.

The goal of the Cirrus Embark program, launched yesterday, is to improve the Cirrus safety record even further. Since Cirrus launched its Cirrus Approach standardized instruction program a few years ago, the Cirrus accident rate has improved to among the best in the industry.

As part of Cirrus Embark, every new pre-owned Cirrus buyer will receive a login to the Cirrus Approach Learning Portal, a complimentary one-year membership to the Cirrus Owners and Pilots Association (COPA), a copy of the Cirrus operations manual and aircraft POH, a redemption code for the interactive operations manual, and one-on-one Cirrus transition training with an authorized Cirrus training provider, tailored to the pilot’s previous experience.

To qualify, a buyer of a used Cirrus must register for the program with 30 days of purchase at cirrus.com/embark. Training must be completed within 60 days of enrollment. Once a Cirrus Standardized Instructor Pilot completes the training, he or she bills Cirrus Aircraft for the training time rather than the aircraft owner. Cirrus says that if multiple partners buy an airplane together, all of them will receive the training.
