Avwxworkshops Launches a Daily Live Weather Brief for Pilots

The 10- to 15-minute program is broadcast live on YouTube each weekday.

Avwxworkshops Inc. announced Monday the launch of its “Daily EZ Weather Brief” livestream broadcast. It’s broadcast live each weekday morning on YouTube

Dr. Scott Dennstaedt

The EZ Weather Brief broadcast was designed to provide a national level general aviation-targeted weather overview, similar to the one that aired on PBS member stations that ran from 1978 to 1995. The goal of the program is to provide pilots with a short 10- to 15-minute report on the day’s aviation weather impacts across the contiguous U.S. and parts of southern Canada.

Dr. Scott Dennstaedt—an instrument-rated pilot and previous National Weather Service research meteorologist—has always wanted to support and give back to the aviation community.

“It’s always been a dream of mine to give back to the general aviation community in this way,” Dennstaedt said in a statement. “There has been a huge interest for this kind of morning summary of the weather over the last couple decades, and I have the unique credentials to make it happen.”

Each broadcast is recorded and uploaded to the avwxworkshops YouTube page for on-demand viewing.

Please note that this live broadcast and video recording is subject to schedule and availability and is strictly for educational and entertainment purposes only and should not be a substitute for a formal weather briefing as required by 14 CFR 91.103 (a).
