AviatorPro is modernizing online ground school training by delivering lessons in five minutes or less, a method proven to increase student retention and reduce ground training time by up to 40 percent.
Founded in 2020 and launched publicly at Oshkosh Airventure 2025, the platform was designed to replace legacy systems with engaging, short-form video experiences that break down complex knowledge areas and training subjects.
The company’s expert-crafted ground school courses, which span from private pilot through commercial ratings, detail topics like aerodynamics, cross-country flight planning, and FAA regulations in clear, focused segments.
To enhance the learning experience, AviatorPro has built custom 1:1 3D-scanned graphics called ProTools. These allow students, for example, to learn about Class B airspace in a video then explore a 3D model of it for more in-depth information.
“AviatorPro is revolutionizing flight training by replacing outdated ground schools with immersive technology, adaptive learning, and industry-leading 3D training tools,” AviatorPro president Luke Ormsby told FLYING. “Students progress at a faster pace, instructors teach more efficiently, and schools gain a scalable system that drives better student outcomes.”
The custom learning experience is driven by artificial intelligence. As students complete quizzes and watch videos, the system identifies their weak areas and suggests topics to review. The platform includes AviatorIntel AI, which can generate instant summaries of any lesson with key takeaways, definitions, and insights to help clarify tricky subjects.
This technology also benefits flight schools and universities, which can use the platform to assign lessons, monitor classroom activity, track student progress, and generate performance reports. This helps deliver a consistent training experience across the organization, keeping every pilot’s training on track. The mission is to transform a passion for flight into proven skill and lasting confidence.
“Our platform uses true micro-learning—short, targeted modules engineered to match how students retain information,” Ormsby said. “Combined with immersive 1:1 ProTools models, AI-driven lesson summaries, and real-time progress tracking, AviatorPro gives both students and instructors unprecedented clarity and efficiency. By aligning every lesson with real-world application, we’re shortening training timelines, improving outcomes, and setting a new benchmark for flight training.”
Courses offered include the private pilot license (30-plus hours), instrument rating (30-plus hours), and commercial pilot license (30-plus hours). Multi-engine and flight instructor courses are listed as coming soon.
