At about 1234 Eastern time, the airplane impacted a golf course in a nose-down attitude. The commercial pilot sustained serious injuries; the airplane was substantially damaged. Visual conditions prevailed.
Several eyewitnesses observed the airplane fly overhead then heard the airplane “throttle down.” They then observed the airplane in a “flat” turn. Several witnesses reported hearing the engine operating at idle the entire time they could see the airplane.
