Learjet 85 Lands on Rodeo Drive

Fathers were celebrated in style this weekend with an event on famed fashion street Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, California. The annual Rodeo Drive Concours d'Elegance displays vintage, racing, high end and other unique cars and motorcycles. The street was packed with visitors perusing antique Mercedes, brand new Porsches and even several Batmobiles, to name a few. And at the south end of the street was a special treat — a Learjet 85 mockup brought in by Bombardier and fractional ownership and charter provider Flexjet, which is also the launch customer for the Learjet 85.

This year’s Rodeo Drive Concours d’Elegance was named “The Jet Age” in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Learjet. It was the first time an aircraft mockup had been on display on Rodeo Drive.

A long line forced visitors to endure the bright California sunshine for quite some time before getting a closer look at the exclusive interior and high-tech cockpit of the Learjet, with the Rockwell Collins Pro Line Fusion avionics suite featuring three 15.1-inch displays. Bombardier hopes to achieve FAA certification for the Learjet 85 by next summer.
