ONE Aviation announced Wednesday that its Eclipse 550 twin-engine jet was awarded type certification by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

“We are thrilled to have EASA certification in place,” says David Hayman, CEO of Aeris Aviation. “This now opens the EU OPS market [European equivalent of Part 135] for the Eclipse, allowing us to sell into charter operations and air taxi services which we believe will be a great fit for the this aircraft.”

In compliance with EASA regulations, modifications to the Eclipse 550 are minimal and can be completed in less than a day. The twin-engine jet can fly up to altitudes of 41,000 feet at a max cruise speed of 430 mph, using just 59 gallons of fuel per hour.

ONE Aviation plans to make deliveries early next year, with European distributors Aeris Aviation, located in Guernsey, and Jetlounge, located in Germany and The Netherlands, awaiting this development
