Diamond Aircraft and airBaltic have signed a letter of intent for airBaltic's pilot training academy to receive three all-electric eD40s and two DA42-VIs.
These aircraft, scheduled for delivery by 2030, will expand the academy's fleet to 15 airframes and support its mission for sustainable and technologically advanced pilot training.
The eD40 is significant as it's expected to be the first EASA/FAA-certified electric airplane in its category, enabling zero-emission flight training with quick charging capabilities.
