Key Takeaways:

  • Boeing is activating a fourth 737 Max final assembly line ("North Line") at its Everett, Washington factory, utilizing space from discontinued programs.
  • This expansion will incrementally increase monthly 737 production from 42 to 47, with future targets of up to 70 aircraft per month.
  • The production increase comes after the FAA had capped output due to manufacturing and oversight issues highlighted by a 2024 737 Max 9 door plug blowout incident.
