The decision to train in a glass cockpit or analog (round dial) aircraft should primarily be based on an individual's flying goals, budget, and the type of aircraft they anticipate flying most often.
While training in simpler, analog avionics can potentially lead to a less complex initial check ride, glass cockpits are often considered easier to interpret, though transitioning from glass to analog might pose a steeper learning curve.
Regardless of the chosen aircraft type, selecting a competent instructor experienced in that specific avionics suite is more critical to successful training than the instrument type itself.
Gaining some experience in both glass and round-gauge aircraft during training is beneficial, as pilots will encounter a learning curve when transitioning between different aircraft types and avionics.
