A Mooney M20L crashed yesterday in a Costco parking lot in San Diego. The Los Angeles Times reported that one of the passengers, an 80-year old woman, died as a result of the crash while the other occupant survived the accident with injuries. No one on the ground was hurt.

From the attached video, it appears that the right wing of the airplane struck a stanchion in the parking lot, which is located just a few miles south of the Montgomery Field Airport (MYF). It is so far unknown what may have caused the airplane to go down.
