U.S. deliveries of the Tecnam P-Mentor single-engine aircraft have begun, with Kilo Charlie Aviation receiving the first units less than a month after the aircraft achieved full FAA Part 23 IFR certification.
Flight schools are adopting the P-Mentor as a modern, more efficient, and cost-effective replacement for legacy training fleets, citing its superior safety, performance, and low operating costs (approximately $65/hour).
The aircraft features a FADEC-equipped Rotax 912iSC3 engine, Garmin G3X Touch Screen avionics, a useful load of 628 pounds, and capabilities like a variable pitch propeller and simulated retractable landing gear to prepare pilots for complex aircraft.
U.S. deliveries of Tecnam Aircraft’s P-Mentor single engine aircraft have begun, with the first airplanes going to Kilo Charlie Aviation in New Century, Kansas.
Last month the IFR certified Part 23 design built in Capua, Italy, achieved certification from the FAA.
