Chamblee, Georgia-based private aviation company Wheels Up has added several new hires to bolster its commercial team.
A news release from the company stated on Tuesday that three new key executives will work under the leadership of Mark Briffa, Wheels Up’s recently appointed chief sales officer and former CEO of Air Partner.
“The additions of Tanya Weed, Maris Kuklis, and Luigi Contessi underscore Wheels Up’s continued commitment to investing in its sales organization, driving growth across its portfolio, and delivering best-in-class service to customers,” the release stated.
Weed brings 15 years of private aviation experience and sales leadership as Wheels Up’s new director of business. She previously worked as the senior vice president of sales for the private aviation company VistaJet.
Kuklis has joined Wheels Up subsidiary Air Partner as the company’s new business development manager. He brings expertise in aviation, tourism, and business development from his previous work supporting global expansion initiatives at JetBlue Airways.
Luigi Contessi has accepted the role of regional business development director for Air Partner. He has over 30 years of executive experience across airlines, charter brokers, and private aviation firms.
Wheels Up said the new hires, based in the U.S. and Europe, will help enhance the company’s global reach and regional expertise.
“The team’s deep sales proficiency will further foster existing client relationships and expand new business opportunities, which is expected to create meaningful progress towards the company’s path to sustained, profitable growth,” Wheels Up stated.
