Today’s Top Pick is a 1999 Lancair 360 Mk II.
This kitbuilt Lancair 360 is located in Granbury, Texas, near Fort Worth and brings together custom aerodynamic mods, a recently installed engine, and a full suite of Garmin avionics. Designed for speed and efficiency, this sleek two-seat experimental cruiser is ideal for the pilot seeking serious cross-country performance in a compact footprint.
The aircraft has 780 hours on the airframe and features a long nose mount extending the cowling by 4 inches. The stock air inlet scoop was removed, and the lower cowl reshaped to increase airflow and enhance cruise speed. Wider silicone baffles and a new stainless-steel exhaust system installed in 2024 support engine cooling and performance at high speeds.

Power comes from a Lycoming IO-360, overhauled just 60 hours ago by Corona Aircraft Engines. The setup includes a cold air induction sump, Ram air system, and an alternate induction air filter to mitigate icing. This configuration delivers 195 hp and 2 additional inches of manifold pressure over stock. A Light Speed ignition system and a Bendix mag with impulse coupling round out the reliable ignition setup.

The Hartzell HC-F2YR-1F/F068-2 propeller has 645 hours since new. Recent maintenance includes resealing the inboard gear actuator, replacing hydraulic solenoids, and condition inspection completed in April 2025 with compression readings all in the upper 70s. New tubes and tires were installed in July 2024.
Avionics are anchored by a Garmin GDU 460 G3X multifunction display with a G5 backup. Navigation is handled by a Garmin 430W and a KX 155 TSO. A GMA 340 audio panel and Garmin GFC 506 autopilot with auto-trim make for a highly capable IFR panel. A Garmin GTX 45R transponder provides ADS-B compliance, and the Vision Microsystems engine monitor keeps critical performance data front and center.
Inside, the cabin was updated in 2016 with chocolate cross-weave leather seating and dual controls. While the exterior remains in its original 1999 white with blue-and-gold trim, the airframe is in solid condition with no known damage history.
A header tank auto-fuel transfer system was added in 2023, and recent inspections confirmed no leaks. The aircraft also features an AOA indicator along with a suite of traditional backup flight instruments.
This Lancair 360 is priced at $175,000 and delivers impressive speed, refined systems, and recent upgrades in a stylish package. Its next owner will enjoy a platform that is well suited to cross-country missions or high-performance local flying.
