Dale Huffstetler, senior community manager for the Vision Pilots and Owners Program, said the Vision Jet passenger experience was designed to feel like traveling in a luxury automobile.

“The cabin is extremely roomy, particularly for the size of the aircraft,” Huffstetler said. “There are copious amounts of leg room.” When the pilot and copilot seats are in typical flying positions, he says, the passengers have unexpected leg room. Between the high-end leather, huge windows and excellent passenger visibility, the amenities and charging ports, and in-flight entertainment, all of our aircraft are comfortable to spend time in. Our customers consistently report that their families love using their Cirrus.”

Whether you’re working remotely or relaxing with entertainment, the Vision Jet’s cabin accommodates your lifestyle. The entertainment display easily connects to your favorite devices, while the modern center console creates a functional workspace at altitude.

Additional comfort features include a pressurized cabin for comfortable high-altitude flying, panoramic windows offering spectacular views, accent lighting creating the perfect ambiance, and rear climate controls for passenger comfort.

Gogo InFlight Wi-Fi adds industry-leading connectivity while in the air, which means that you can stay connected wherever you go.

Safety Innovations

Two of Cirrus’ most distinct and well-regarded safety features are the Cirrus Airframe Parachute System (CAPS) and Safe Return Emergency Autoland, both of which are cutting-edge innovations that have garnered major awards, including the Robert J. Collier Trophy.

The CAPS is an uncompromising innovation of aircraft safety. This FAA-approved whole-aircraft parachute system can be deployed in emergency situations where the aircraft itself is compromised, lowering the entire Vision Jet safely to the ground.

With a rocket-deployed parachute capable of supporting the aircraft’s weight, CAPS provides pilots and passengers with a last-resort option.

“If the aircraft is broken, the Cirrus Airframe Parachute System is there in the event the aircraft cannot be landed safely,” Huffstetler said. “If the pilot is incapacitated, we have Safe Return Emergency Autoland.”

In the event the pilot of a single-engine aircraft becomes incapacitated mid-flight, Cirrus has a solution. One of Cirrus’ most groundbreaking general aviation safety advancements was the introduction of Safe Return Emergency Autoland powered by Garmin. This revolutionary technology has been redefining safety and accessibility in aviation since its launch in 2020.

Huffstetler said that Cirrus is committed to making aviation approachable to everyone. With Safe Return Emergency Autoland, the company provides another layer of safety for peace of mind.

“Private jets are often flown by single pilots, and Safe Return™ Emergency Autoland gives them and their families peace of mind,” Huffstetler said. “If you have the worst day and end up incapacitated, Safe Return Emergency Autoland can protect you from a much worse outcome and still bring you and your passengers home safely.”

Safe Return Emergency Autoland provides a revolutionary approach to protecting passengers in the event of an emergency by giving them the ability to land the Vision Jet autonomously during an emergency situation with the simple touch of a button. Even if the pilot becomes incapacitated, passengers can activate a fully automated landing sequence that is guided by sophisticated sensors and algorithms.

“Safe Return Emergency Autoland is the first aircraft control feature designed for passengers to be able to use,” Huffstetler said. “Passengers can push the red button, and the system will make all the decisions a pilot would make. It can make those decisions based on fuel, terrain, and weather.”

Once Safe Return Emergency Autoland is activated, it displays and the aircraft makes the decisions. Simplified interfaces display information like the aircraft’s speed, altitude, fuel level, and upcoming turns and altitude changes in layman’s terms to reassure passengers throughout the landing.

“Safe Return Emergency Autoland automatically communicates all necessary steps with air traffic control and gives passengers the option to use a microphone to speak to ATC if they would like,” Huffstetler said.

This assurance is a major new step toward providing peace of mind, and Huffstetler hopes it encourages more people to engage with aviation by reducing the barriers of entry.

The General Aviation Manufacturers Association’s results show that these comprehensive safety features have helped make the Vision Jet the best selling jet in aviation, with over 600 units delivered. Customers report that they were drawn by Cirrus’ safety systems and premium flying experience.

Owners like Craig Savage were sold based on features like CAPS.

“The parachute was the main reason I bought a Cirrus,” Savage said. “Having a family and kids, the added safety backup gives me  peace of mind.”

Cirrus allows pilots and their families to focus on the joy of flight.

Pilot Insights

“We pride ourselves on making the easiest-to-own and operate turbine aircraft,” Huffstetler said. “One of our goals was to produce a jet that’s as easy to own as a high-end sports car. That means streamlined documentation and recordkeeping, easy user experience for the pilot, creature comforts for the passengers, and of course, the most advanced safety features you’ll find.”

Cirrus owners are prepared for flight before they get to the airport with Cirrus IQ, a mobile app for aircraft management that provides remote access to critical aircraft information from virtually anywhere in the world.

“Cirrus IQ enables owners to sync their app and monitor for things like fuel, battery temperature, TKS de-icing fluid, and aircraft location from anywhere,” Huffstetler said.

According to Huffstetler, it has increasingly become a useful aircraft management tool.

“You can use it to conveniently manage service bulletins, technical documents, Hobbs meter readouts, and flight hours,” he said. “Not only that, but now with Cirrus IQ PRO you can collect detailed trip data for record keeping, which a lot of pilots use for tax purposes. The system makes it incredibly easy to track business flights and personal travel, and really it’s just one of many tools we provide to make ownership easier.”

The app allows owners to view fuel and oxygen quantity remotely, access a simplified remote data-gathering process for troubleshooting, and easily view related technical publications and maintenance Intervals. Remotely access important pre-flight status information, including fuel and oxygen levels, battery voltage, oil temperature, aircraft location, and flight hours.

Now with Cirrus IQ PRO, owners can get real-time status updates. The platform includes an inspection manager for digitally tracking all required inspections and life-limited parts, a tech publications feature providing access to historical documentation with instant notifications for new service bulletins or advisories, and data export functionality for accounting.

Additionally, the new Cirrus IQ PRO Approach Score feature provides objective data on stabilized approach criteria.

“With the Cirrus IQ PRO Approach Score feature, you can track metrics like your approach speeds and analyze your own performance to continue improving your landings,” Huffstetler said.

Cirrus IQ PRO consolidates what previously required multiple applications into one integrated solution.

Cirrus Ownership

Every Vision Jet includes a premier flight training experience at the Vision Center Campus through Cirrus Approach, the company’s flight training program, including training in a full-motion Level D Vision Jet flight simulator. This comprehensive approach means that pilots are thoroughly prepared for all aspects of operating their new Vision Jet.

“I don’t think a lot of people realize how easy it is to go from an SR Series aircraft to the Vision Jet,” Huffstetler said. “There’s a lot of commonality between the avionics, the layout of the controls, and the general operation of the aircraft. The Vision Jet really changed the game in terms of how pilots can transition into flying a jet.”

Traditionally, Huffstetler said, a pilot would have to start with a single-engine piston, and then get experience in a multi-engine piston, and then maybe a turboprop before learning how to fly a light jet.

“Now you can go from an SR Series [single-engine piston] to the Vision Jet with a relatively small learning curve thanks to having the same Cirrus Perspective Touch+ flight deck,” he said.

The Vision Jet is a pinnacle of innovation in personal aviation in the way it combines advanced safety features, luxurious comfort, and cutting-edge technology. As the world’s first single-engine personal jet and the best selling jet, it continues to revolutionize travel and Cirrus streamlines jet ownership while maintaining the highest standards of safety and performance.

The Vision Jet offers an ownership experience as exceptional as the aircraft itself.
